The Golden Mill Core Values

As Golden Mill employees we are:

Guest Centric (hospitable) –

We have the best interest of our guests in mind. We greet every guest with a warm hello and welcome to The Golden Mill! We are proactive communicators, always striving to improve the guest experience by making personal connections and asking, “How can we make your experience even better?” We prioritize “taking care of our guests” over seeking profits.

True Professionals –

We are trustworthy and reliable. We prepare and follow through. Our colleagues and customers and vendors can depend on us. We take responsibility when appropriate (don’t hide; communicate).  We make the health and safety of our guests, our employees, and our vendors a priority. We take pride in our facility by always being aware of sight lines/cleanliness both inside and out, on the rooftop and in the yard, in our parking lots (including CoorsTek), in our storage room and trash enclosure at the Gold Office Building. We take pride in our jobs by showing up on time and wearing a clean uniform.

Knowledgeable of our History and Location -

We know and value the history of The Golden Mill, first as a flour mill, then as a feed store and finally to its current iteration as a social community gathering place. We know the significance of the building’s architecture, including the historical designation of the food hall building and The Golden Mill mural, as well as how the 2 sides of the building are connected on an angle to represent the old mill race. We are knowledgeable of the unique landmarks surrounding The Golden Mill that make it such a special place. We seek to share this knowledge with our guests, our vendors and those we interact with so that. We are happy to offer up suggestions of local activities and attractions to our guests. We are ambassadors for The Golden Mill in everything we do.

Ensure a Culture of Respect –

We are respectful of our colleagues, customers, vendors, and others we interact with. We are team players, willing to help wherever needed. We are honest and have integrity. We seek to understand the perspectives of the community in which we work and always strive be a good neighbor. We promote and recognize principles of fairness, equity, and social justice in the work we do, partnerships we foster, and culture we value both within and outside of our organization.

Constant Learner –

We understand how our unique dining experience works and know all the food vendors and their menus. We are knowledgeable of our self-pour system and all the various types of beverages we serve.  We are eager to share our knowledge with our guests and strive to enhance the guest experience. We are willing and capable to be flexible in applying our skillsets. We seek the answer by asking questions when we don’t know. We are willing and able to take constructive criticism and make improvements. We are problem solvers, observant of our systems and operations and look for ways to make enhancements.
